Our work

Human rights, justice and policy

We protect human rights and access to justice for people facing discrimination, stigma, unlawful arrest and violence. We build legal literacy in communities, document violations, and advocate for inclusive laws and policies.

The challenge

Criminalisation, stigma and fear of arrest or violence drive key populations away from health care and justice. When rights are violated, few cases are documented or resolved, so the conditions that fuel HIV continue.

Our approach

  • Strengthen community organisations to document violations and advocate with evidence.
  • Build legal literacy, so people know their rights and how to seek redress.
  • Engage duty bearers, from health facilities to state and national policy makers.
  • Challenge harmful norms and misinformation through grassroots education.
