In May 2025, Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI) and our newly recruited community-led monitoring (CLM) data collectors completed regional step-down training hosted by the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN). The training was delivered through the GC7 N-THRIP project, funded by the Global Fund, with the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) as principal recipient.
The training brought together NEPWHAN State Coordinators, monitoring and evaluation officers, and three grassroots community-based organisations (CBOs) from each implementing state. Its aims were to:
- educate people living with HIV on HIV prevention, treatment and rights
- support community-led solutions that reflect people's lived realities
- track and measure health progress from the ground up
- strengthen health systems through data-driven monitoring led by communities
Community-led monitoring puts communities at the centre of holding health services to account. We are proud to be part of this work to make healthcare in Nigeria more inclusive and accountable.
