In September 2026, Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI) made an advocacy visit to the Health Secretary of Karu Local Government Area (LGA), Nasarawa State, to share findings from our community-led monitoring (CLM).

We presented service delivery gaps identified at the Gwandara and Jankawa primary health care centres (PHC Gwandara and PHC Jankawa), including:

  • access to HIV testing
  • collection of TB and HIV samples
  • referral systems
  • laboratory storage
  • essential facility infrastructure

Our message was clear: communities need dependable services close to home. The visit took community feedback gathered through CLM to the people who make decisions about local health services.

We will keep working with health authorities and community stakeholders to track these issues and advocate for action.
