In August 2024, Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI) and Lawyers Alert held a one-day training for community-based organisations (CBOs) and key stakeholders in Nasarawa State. The training focused on building capacity and reducing vulnerability, with an emphasis on human rights awareness and documentation.
The day covered:
- stakeholder engagement, including discussion of the human rights issues facing the community
- documenting human rights violations in Nasarawa State
- an overview of the Key Population Sizing Tool and its methodology, to support data-driven interventions
- proposal writing, from developing a concept to delivering a project
Participants also had the chance to speak directly with stakeholders about the challenges they see in their communities.
CBOs that can document rights violations, plan their work and write strong proposals are better placed to support their communities. The training is part of our partnership with Lawyers Alert to advance capacity and reduce vulnerability in Nigeria.
