In August 2023, a team from Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI), including our Executive Director, Bonac Orusakwe, visited the Embassy of Brazil in Nigeria. We met Ambassador Ronaldo and Professor Carlos Oliveira of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).

The meeting brought together people working for the rights and health of sexual minorities and other key populations. We discussed how our combined efforts could help guarantee equality for all, including:

  • creating safe spaces
  • expanding support networks
  • strategies to support and improve the lives of key populations

The meeting ended with a shared understanding and a commitment to collaboration and common goals. We look forward to working with our partners on the initiatives that follow.
