In August 2024, Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI) took part in a Global Fund Grant Cycle 7 (GC7) training organised by the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN). The training was part of the Nigeria-TB/HIV Reach Integration and Impact Project (N-THRIP) and focused on HIV testing services (HTS) for pregnant women.
In a role-play session, our team demonstrated practical ways to integrate HIV testing into TB care for pregnant women, using real-life scenarios. The session highlighted the importance of early detection and treatment to protect both mothers and their babies.
A practical session followed, in which participants applied these skills to deliver effective and compassionate HIV testing.
The training strengthens our contribution to maternal health and to the response to TB and HIV in Nigeria. We thank IHVN and our fellow trainees for a collaborative and useful experience.
