In July 2025, Olive Rights to Health Initiative (ORHI) convened a community engagement meeting in Nasarawa State under the community-led monitoring (CLM) project, which runs in 13 states across Nigeria. ORHI is the lead community-based organisation (CBO) for Nasarawa State.

The meeting brought together Ward Development Committees, traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, local HIV response agencies, key population communities and other stakeholders. It is part of the Global Fund-supported N-THRIP project, implemented by the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) through the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN). The project focuses on accountability, service quality and inclusiveness in TB/HIV programmes.

We listened to the challenges community members face in accessing TB and HIV services, including stigma, barriers to access and human rights issues, and shared proven practices for overcoming them.

By bringing service users and providers together, CLM helps build a health system that puts people first and leaves no one behind.
